Seattle Science Center

This saturday we had the oppurtunity to go to the Seattle Science Center with Nicole (Thanks to Jordan's Mom!) It was a BLAST! I was so grateful to have Nicole there, not only did she drive (still scared of city driving!) but she was a HUGE help watching the kids, not to mention how much Makayla & Oscar LOVE their Aunt "Cole" :-)

In the middle of all the science center buildings are some really fun (& educational) water games and devices. One is one of my favorites, the water-suspended ball!

And of course a REALLY cool gerbil-type-water wheel! Two kids were nice enough to let Makayla walk in it with them while they went slow. She thought it was pretty neat too!

And because of the wind, we kept getting "mists/gushes" from all of the water cannons too!

There is a really neat dinosaur exhibit there too. And after the initial scare (when the dinosaurs MOVED!) Makayla really started to get into the whole dinosaur atmosphere.
Even pushing buttons to move a dino-skeleton

There was a REALLY neat demonstration on bubbles too! This is what happens when you put a cup full of liquid nitrate into a tupperware full of soap...

The bubbles all froze! And expanded so fast it looked like a volcano erupting!
(p.s. I did have picture of him lighting bubbles on fire too...
really neat! but Makayla deleted them! grrrr)

There is a really fun kids area too. And of course Makayla was hooked on the water trough!

What can I say? Girl loves water!

When we finally pried her away from the water, she found her next love cars :-)
There was a LOT of toys and fun games in this section, but I was just TOO busy having fun to take too many pictures! But I HIGHLY recommend going here, I could have just sat for hours while Makayla ran around and tried everything. I LOVED the music section too! Lots of things to make noise with! ....although Oscar wasn't a big fan of that room...

Another part of the science center Makayla really loved...
The Butterfly Garden.
She had so much fun running around and finding the butterflies and showing them to us!
She was in heaven!

That is... until a butterfly swooped down and "attacked" her.
It's that black blob, right above Nicole's nose... you can almost tell it's a butterfly!
But really... I think Mak's face is PRICELESS. Is it bad to laugh?

All in all. We had a GREAT day. And she still loved the butterflies.

I promise it's not too long! And even though I didn't get any pictures of Oscar.. (sorry he was in the back pack and I forgot!) you can at least hear him on the video every once in a while!
