Babyland General

When I was little I had a cabbage patch doll.
A very rare cabbage patch doll, she had a soft head.
I loved her to death! Really. She went everywhere with me.
She was my Mary Doll.
So when I learned that the birthplace of Cabbage Patch Dolls was only an hour and a half away from us, I HAD to take my daughter there!

There were SO many adorable unique cabbage patch kids set up and they ranged in prices from $10 to $400! (guess what, my cabbage patch from childhood, amazingly enough fell into the $300 range! too bad we can't find her now!)

Here is the Mother Cabbage Tree with BeeBunnies flying around.
This is where the cabbage patch kids are "born" every half hour!

I took Makayla to the nursery to pick out her doll
and after wandering through all of the nurseries and she picked her!
Then she wanted to rock her back to sleep because
"I woke her up during her nap"
Love this little girl!
After she chose her new baby she took her to the nurse to be checked out and get the adoption paperwork started.
Then it was off to the waiting room while they got her baby all ready.
Makayla got to choose her name and she chose Eliza as the first name (our friend had a baby a couple months ago in St Louis named Eliza, and Makayla STILL talks about her!)
Then she took the adoption oath

And left with her brand new baby!
This morning she got up, and changed Eliza's diaper, all by herself!
I know this because Eliza is now wearing one of Oscar's diapers, not her original diaper and neither Jordan nor I helped her with this!

I love my daughter, and I really love that I can share my cabbage patch love with her!
It was such a wonderful, special experience!
If you are ever in Georgia, make sure to stop by
Babyland General in Cleveland Ga!
Well worth the trip!
