Don't they grow fast?

I know, I know lots of cliche and cheese coming your way! But after all, he is my baby!
Remember when he was this tiny :-(

Here he is at the hospital with his shark.
It feels like such a lifetime ago that we were waiting for him,
then suddenly there he was and it's like he's always been in our family!

And now here he is, a whole year old!
*sob*
I know, I'm going to be one of those horrible mothers everyone
makes fun of when my kids go to college :-(
seriously!

Now for the birthday fest!
Here he is helping me make his cake!
As a side note, I've decided maybe strawberry isn't the best option
for little boys cakes, because no matter what frosting I used,
the pink kept showing through :-P
But it WAS tasty!

On the morning of his birthday we had pancakes in the shape of "O" for Oscar
Coincidentally, "O" is the only letter Makayla recognizes.
And it's always "O" for Oscar, never "M" for Makayla or Mommy!
Here he is talking on the phone to his Aunt Krystal.
And yes, he actually talks.
Give him a call sometime, he loves it!

At our house you get an article of clothing that you open in the morning,
so you have something to wear on your birthday that's new before the evening of presents!
Here's Makayla "helping" open his presents for him.

Shoes! And they have the little windows on the bottom so you can see his toes :-)

Ok, have you seen that commercial for windows where the family is taking pictures
but no one is cooperating so she goes "to the cloud" and inserts different pictures
together to make the perfect picture?
Well, I REALLY wish I had the cloud for these two!
Look how adorable Mak looks in this picture!

And it is SOOOOOOO rare to get a genuinely happy smile from Jordan for pictures!
ARGH! Cooperate people!

We went to Red Robin for his birthday dinner (since there is no Dirty Dave's here)
And they sang to him... he just kind of stared at them.

But he really liked his free sundae!
What a great little share-er :-)

Dig in!

Here's a lot of pictures of one thing, because I think they are adorable!
Deal with it! Like I said, he is my baby!
He actually was blowing on the candle too!
What a brilliant little boy!

He blew it out just in time for Daddy to light it again!

Got it again!
What a smart cookie!

The cake was a 3d Neverland Cake...
Not my finest work, but I have learned and we are moving on from that debacle
Baking and decorating... not my specialties!
But anyway, of course in Neverland they have Mermaid Lagoon.
So here is Jordan with his Mermaid slice

And Makayla.
"Cheese"
What a ham :-)

He is so sweet to share his cake!
Love this little guy and his big heart!

and his big appetite!
(a friend visited us the other day, her son is almost 18 months
and Oscar was the same size as him! ha! well, i'll just blame him
for being small, because Oscar keeps ranking in the 50%!)

Makayla, opening more of Oscar's presents.
She DID say they were his, but then she told us
"Oscar says I can play with them now"
;-)

It was a great birthday.
I can't believe my baby is 1!
A year flew by so fast! I can't wait to see what this year brings us!

  2. Great, now I'm craving strawberry cake.

Your blog is so CUTE. You need to help me cute-ify my blog. This is an area I struggle in.

And Red Robin gives you a free sundae on your birthday?

I think tomorrow will be my birthday.
