Hooray for pictures!
So, I know you have already had these posts, mostly. I will try to be brief, just so I can get better pictures up and reminisce a little :-)
We moved to West Virginia in April of this year and lived in a hotel. Which was actually much better than I had hoped! The staff LOVED our kids and were super nice, even letting them play ball in the hallways. And not ever having to make breakfast, was pretty awesome!
We visited the Easter Bunny at the mall. Look how cute and little and chubby O looks!
We went to baseball games and the kids met their hero Aang. Makayla LOVED watching The Last Airbender. She even drew arrows on herself when we weren't looking and said she was an Airbender. That kid cracks me up.
Easter was a lot of fun too. After the kids jumped on Daddy to wake him up, they got to open their Easter baskets with all sorts of goodies. (Thank you Jordan's Mom who always sends the kids awesome things for each holiday!)
Jordan took Makayla fishing. Now she's hooked and asks to go fishing with Daddy all the time.
And we went to the CIRCUS! After years of bugging Jordan to go, we finally went! Hooray! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Circus!
(sidenote: due to the amount of moves we made, and the direction of our moves, we actually could have watched the same Circus 5 times this year. Ca-Razy!)
We had lots of cotton candy. Which makes me super happy :-) And it was Mak's first time eating cotton candy, pretty sure it makes HER super happy too ;-)
Oscar slept through the first half of the Circus, so we got to really focus on Makayla's excitement for every new act. The first part was mostly tumbling, high wire and things like that so she was in heaven!
After all that excitement (and cotton candy) Makayla slept through the second half of the Circus, and we got to focus on Oscar's excitement for everything. THe second half was the animals and motorcycles, so HE was in heaven then.
It was pretty much perfect!
We lived next to a couple really fun restaurants, a fun Mexican one, where the owner always came out and gave Makayla chocolate milk, a Texas roadhouse one (fore-shadowing) and our favorite was a restaurant in downtown Charleston, WV. Everything was locally made, including the cheese, beer, bread, EVERYTHING. And they had the BEST food. Their menus changed often, due to what was in season. It was great.
There are lots of waterfalls in West Virginia, so you can literally just go driving, park by the side of the road and hike up to a waterfall. Gorgeous!
It was getting warmer by then, so the kids loved playing in the water. Both of my kids are definitely water babies!
We moved to Huntington, West Virginia at the end of May. It was definitely warm enough to want to go swimming then! So we did, a lot! Makayla became a pro at swimming with her life jacket on! She was fearless!
Oscar wanted to be fearless, he hated being put in his floatie, so we had to sit on the steps with him and stop him from just jumping in!
Huntington is where Marshall University is at, so we went downtown and ate at the restaurant that is in the movie (which coincidentally we hadn't seen yet, but since living there we have now watched.) We also got to go to an Indoor Arena Football game with the kids. It was pretty cool.
And that is West Virginia (and only 2 moves in 2 months)
So stay tuned for where we are headed to next!
Hearts and Hugs!
