The problem is there aren't many indoor things here to do. There's fast food playgrounds, but then the kids want food. There's the quarter machine rides at the mall, but they are all more like dollar machines these days (when did THAT happen?)
So what do we do?
We go to petsmart and look at the birds and fish.
No really, it's one of our favorite things to do!
No money invloved because we don't have a pet, so I'm not tempted to buy anything, and the kids are thoroughly entertained by the animals and too young to know that if we bought them we could actually take them home ;-)
Not to mention I get MY pet fix, without having to clean up after one too! Win-win!
So next time you're bored, or it's raining, don't pine around at home, take your kids on an outing to the local pet store! ;-)

Did you know that we have one of those big warehouses full of bouncy castles and inflatable slides and stuff right? It's called Jumpin Jacks. If you go before kids get out of school it's really fun.
ReplyDeleteI have been meaning to take Alex to PetSmart all winter. But it is about 20 minutes away which means it is on the OPPOSITE side of Ithaca. And I'm pretty lazy.
