The Animals of Cancun

On our trip to Cancun there were a lot of animals! Here is a preview of just a few...

There were about 3-5 Raccoons every night at the snack bar in the resort. They would wander in and around the tables trying to get people to feed them. It worked most of the time, but the best is when they would "surprise" a table of girls. You could always tell where the raccoons were from the screaming girls :-)
Makayla LOVED them and would talk about them all night and try to feed them.
I still think they were a little creepy though.
We also fed the turtles in the river and streams around the resort. There were a LOT of turtles.
Makayla loved bombing the turtles with bread and popcorn, between her bites of the bread!
I love how colorful peacock males are! Their bodies are almost fluorescent blue!

Everyone kept telling us this was a badger. Silly people. We learned later it's actually a kawati (not sure about the spelling)
More peacocks, this time female

And of course lots and LOTS of iguanas!

By far, Makayla's favorite animals were the donkeys. She was super cute when she talked about them she would yell "c'mon donkey!" then in an almost whispery high voice she would say "hee-haw" It was super cute!
This is the male donkey
This is the female donkey... she's pregnant.
Makayla would wait at the fence and say "hee-haw" until they came over. Then she would just stare and stare at them. It was really neat, especially when one of the workers said she could sit on one (sorry, didn't get a picture of that!) shortly after Jordan set her down the Donkey took off, luckily Jordan was holding Mak the whole time, so the donkey pretty much just walked out from underneath her. Kind of funny.
