So for Father's Day I asked Makayla what she wanted to do for Daddy
She said "play with Daddy"
Kind of vague.
So I looked up events going on around Seattle and when I saw there was a
Washington Brewers Festival
Going on less than half an hour from us...
I was SOLD!
So Sunday morning we got up, brought Sky with us, and headed over to St Edwards state Park for the brewers fest! It was a little overcast, so I packed coats for the kids... not rain coats, and it POURED for half the day! Oh well, the food was great, the atmosphere fun and Makayla TOTALLY did not mind being drenched! :-)
They had so much to do there!
They had Rosemary Chicken Sausages, that turned out to be DELICIOUS!
Makayla won some pink play dough in the
Root Beer Can Toss
And later picked out an elephant balloon from one of the kid vendors
making balloon animals! She even asked for it herself! Growing up so fast!
*also, I have to brag about my husband really quick, since it IS /WAS father's day.
The kid before us asked for a balloon motorcycle, and when he was leaving with it, it popped :-( but Jordan being amazing like he is, had the lady make another one for him, and as we were leaving gave the kid another motorcycle balloon. I am in awe everyday over what a great heart Jordan has, and how he gives so much to others, people he doesn't even know! I am so glad my kids have such a great example for a father!
There were over 200 Brewers from the west coast there!
From california, all the way up to Washington!
Jordan and Sky got a little "taster" cup and some tokens,
then could go taste whatever beer they wanted to try! It was really neat!
And there were a lot of people there!
I think Jordan and Sky made friends with just about everybody though!
Oscar wasn't a big fan of all the noise and rain though.
Poor kid! Normally I COMPLETELY overpack, but this time I only had ONE thin blanket!
Ha! That'll teach me to try and scale down my "mom-bag"
I got a lot of comments on Makayla's monster-hoodie too!
People kept asking me if I was going to have a booth at the brewers festival next year!
Ha! But she DID look super cute all day! Especially when she came closer to the put-put hole in one than I did! :-P
I think Makayla's favorite part was when we got her a bubble gun.
The vendor was SUPER smart with selling those! By the end of the day, I'm pretty sure EVERY KID THERE had one! And he was giving free bubble and battery refills all day too!
Because really, no kid can resist bubbles!
Jordan and Sky also participated in the ADULT beer can toss and won some shirts.
There were vendors there from all over and we got to talk to a lot of them about how they got started and what they thought was the most important thing to start out with in brewing.
It was a really fun day and I am so glad I got to share it with my family!
Happy Father's Day!
How fun! What a perfect day for Jordan too, it sounds like you all had a great time. Lucky you guys were able to go. It'll be a great memory for your family. I love days like that. :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, I am an idiot. I was like, "Aren't they the Milwaukee Brewers?" Yeah, awesome.
