But here are some important (at least to me!) Things I don't want to forget!
Oscar
Says Daddy, like "Da-Doo" not sure why, but he does!
He thinks "uh" is a word to start sentences with. Like "uh, bah-do" for "I'd like a bottle please!" Or "uh, bah" for "give me a ball please" Or his favorite "uh, da bu" for... We have no idea!
Oscar can climb up ANYthing! Seriously, shelves in the closet, beds, the kitchen counter... We even caught him scaling the window sill to his bed! And he can now climb out of his pack and play :-P
He still loves to cuddle and I am so grateful for his hugs!
Oh, and his favorite song is "Dynamite" by Taio Cruiz. If he's fussy in the car (and he hates riding in the car!) We just turn that song on and he's happy just dancing to it. I think I may need a cd of it on a loop!
He roars like a monster and will chase you down if you run! And he loves doing the "elbow drop" on unsuspecting victims laying down!
If he's falling asleep in my arms he'll get comfortable, then crawl up with his eyes closed and give me a kiss, then curl back up, then come give me another kiss, smile and curl back up. All with his eyes closed, he'll do this till I forcibly stop him, then he'll fall asleep :-)
Makayla
Makes up songs and dances all day long! I LOVE IT! Sometimes they are sung to the tunes of songs she knows (like the Pirates Who Don't Do Anything") but most of the time they are about whatever she's doing at the time.
She told me once that she missed her dance class and that her "bones just NEEDED to dance!"
Her hair is getting really long and she told her Daddy that is was "all the way to my bum crack!" And she wants to grow it out like Rapunzel all the way to the door!
She has trained Oscar to be a puppy and he even does tricks! She also "feeds and waters" him with bowls of cereal on the floor.
We go to petsmart on saturdays to play with the puppies and kittens and Mak said "let's bring a kitten home and just not tell Daddy"
We were discussing body parts and told her about her intestines, she thought we said kittens. So now she has 2 kittens in her belly named "hot tea" and "hot cocoa" (no idea why she named them that!) And sometimes they get "squirmy" and make her feel sick, and other times she just has to pet them.
She loves getting her finger and toenails painted and would switch colors everyday if I let her! But she HATES having her hair done! She loves the color purple and pink and sparkley. But she also is a fan of every other color of the rainbow too ;-)
Whenever she's sad she'll say that she misses her Grandpa. She always asks for smoothies when we go places, but she calls them "moo-dies" and gets mad when we repeat that. She is getting more excited about longer books. Her favorite movies have Barbie in them and she says amazing bedtime prayers! She always thanks God for everything that happened that day. Right down to the people we saw! She even names them all by name! She also adds in every family member that she can remember, until we help her with the rest.
I love both of my kids so very much! I am amazed at them every day and their capacity for love and forgiveness! They make me want to become a better mother, and a better person.
Every day Oscar gives me hugs and kisses. And EVERY day Makayla says "Mom, I love you, you are a great Mom!"

My kids did the "uh" thing, too. Right now Tess's thing is to say "uh juice!" and then throw her sippy cup at me.
ReplyDeleteMakayla is so sweet. I love that she calls her intestines kitties. What a funny kid. :)
Oscar dropping the elbow on people made me laugh. As long as it's not me.
ReplyDeleteWhy does your blog signature on comments keep changing. Naomi Mae now. You crazy. :)
M&Ms as a bonus to nursing is brilliant. Even though it doesn't hurt anymore, I think I will still implement that policy.
ReplyDeleteThe outfit that matched the diapers was a gift to Alex from Sam's parents. I'm not sure where they got it. But Alex never used Target brand diapers so we didn't even realize it matched. But then Edison got Target brand diapers for a baby shower and it just happened. I actually didn't notice. Someone pointed it out to me!
