Maymont

In downtown Richmond there is a beautiful mansion on over 100 acres that was donated to Richmond many, many, MANY years ago to preserve the time. It is beautiful and there is a TON of stuff to do! And it's all donation! (ie free... with donations if you'd like to/can)
Just look at this gorgeous big porch and towers!

Here's their "carriage house" Wouldn't it be fabulous to have a whole house just for your rides? And cute little horse-drawn ones at that ;-)

And no mansion is complete without a wine cellar! Look at those rows and rows! I wonder how much it could hold?
We had too many toddlers to do the tour of the house and actually enjoy it (no please get off the 200 year old bed... it's not for jumping)
So we opted to go find the petting zoo instead :-)

After a WAY-TOO-LONG hike and making a very pregnant woman push her stroller up 3 hills and carry it down stairs... we finally made it to the top where the animals were! And no baby was born! ;-)

This picture just cracks me up! Lounging at the pig pen.

Trying to catch one of the roaming peacocks that escaped little boys fingers under the fence

I wish I had video of this, because both boys were just standing there "clucking" like hens.
Cracked me up!

Ugliest pig ever.
Sorry, but it's the truth. It's face looked like it had been smashed like a pugs!

Chasing the male peacock, they were walking very slowly and trying to creep up on it... but the bird just wouldn't stop for them!

This is by far the coolest tree I have ever seen. And right next to a little stream!
I would just LOVE this to be on my property some day! What a perfect little place!

A little too much sun made for a grumpy and sad Makayla.
But I think she is still so pretty even sad

She perked right up when we stopped for ice cream afterward! Too bad Oscar slept through it!

  2. Holy smokes! Your kids are getting so old! Oh Naomi, I need moving motivation. I am getting worn out already. I just want to sell all of our stuff. I hate clutter.
