More Christmas?
:-)
Well, for us it did!
We headed back to St George and got there just in time for MY mom to visit! Yeah!
She came bearing more gifts! To which, Makayla was very thankful ;-)
Including the coolest ever "Don't Break the Ice"
I love this game!
(Except when I have to set it up again and again and again...)
And more importantly, Makayla LOVES this game too!

We also got to do a little site-seeing with her (even though it got COLD while she was here!)
We went to the Brigham Young Winter House (for all you LDS fans out there!)

My favorite part of that house...
The sideways sewing machine :-)
My least favorite part would be the fact that both kids were NOT in the mood for a quite tour, even though there were a lot of others on the tour that WERE in the mood for a quite tour!
Then we headed over to the Tabernacle for a quick tour.
It was really interesting, but I think they tour guide did not understand how to do a tour with little kids! C'mon! Doesn't ANYONE take small kids to historical places anymore?
Or are mine just the most unruly! (yikes!)
Cool fact about this picture...
The chandeliers used to be made out of Cast Iron, and had to be lowered and raised every time they wanted to light the candles on them! Yikes! HEAVY!
Now they are exact replicas, just made of Aluminum and they still weigh over a TON!
So they only raise and lower them if there is more than 3 lights burnt out!

Love the old chairs there!
There was actually a lot of cool history in the building of this building!
So if you are ever in St George, be sure to stop by and get a free tour!
Then of course there was New Years!
Jordan and Makayla decided to attack Oscar with the little blow-y things (technical term)
I was smart this year and got the ones that DIDN'T make noise,
but Oscar still, was not a fan :-(
Makayla loved them though!
Happy 2011!
Neither kid made it to midnight though!
Too cute!
We celebrated with silly string a little early

And our traditional Pizza and Air-popped popcorn!
I am so grateful we live so close to my Mom now!
It's still 8 hours... but it's the closest I've been since college!
Happy 2011 Everyone!

hooray for mom! :)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't think to tour the Tabernacle. That's a good idea. Any other local touristy things I've never done that you know about?
