Happy First Birthday Oscar

I had a whole list of pictures I wanted to post, and a whole list of things I wanted to say, but in the end it all sounds cheesy and mushy.
Like how he completed our family, and how he mended broken hearts. He is our little peacemaker. His smile is so big and so bright it is hard to stay made at him, even though he is also our little troublemaker and our family tease! If you say "Oscar don't touch the blinds" he'll smile real big at you with one eye partially closed in a lazy wink, and reach out one finger slowly toward the blinds!
He is already a wiz with a sword and can carry it even though it is taller than he is! And he aims for the other sword if you're holding one, if not... You better watch out! He's aiming for the kill shot!
He loves wires, electronics, plugs and pipes. He'd be happy as a clam sitting under the sink playing with all the pipes!
He loves cars and makes a "vroom" noise as they drive all over. He also loves copying his sister in everything she does! Including purses and dolls! Ha!
He tied his sister's record of most moves in the first year (hers was 5) by moving from Olympia to Seattle, to St Louis, to Nashville, to Atlanta, a long 2 week vacation in Orlando, move to Utah and a week in Olympia, then back to Utah!
Makayla has pretended Oscar is her puppy, but now that he's walking he's either a monster (which he loves and starts chasing everyone around growling and saying roar, as soon as you say "Oscar Monster!") Or her "baby sister" ha! But she has always been an amazing big sister!
On our long drives she tries to comfort Oscar when he gets upset, by patting his hand and making shushing noises, and then telling us what he wants (ie juice, food, diaper)
She is the first in the room when he wakes up (sometimes waking him up!) And his grin couldn't be bigger!
I am so lucky to have two kids who are such good friends and love each other so much!

This morning Oscar and I went in to wake up Makayla and she said "good morning birthday guy! Happy birthday Oscar!"

What a blessing he has been to our family and this last year couldn't have gone by any quicker :-( I am so sad that he is not my little baby, and so excited to see him in this next stage of life!
