So I think I've figured out why I've been so cranky lately.
You see, other than needing a super clean home
(A big THANK YOU to a friend who let me borrow her vacuum today!!!!!)
I really REALLY need sleep!
:-P
I would love to sleep more, but every night I have a problem...
THIS is in my bed!
I know what you're thinking...
Cute, no?
But as cute as a picture makes her look, she's pretty devious in the
"kick-you-in-the-ribs" area!
Or the
"wake-up-too-often-for-water-" -ness.
(She also has nightmares... that one I can't make fun of... it's sad)
So basically what I'm saying is,
I'd like to get some more sleep.
Like her.
Maybe then, scary cranky Naomi would go away.
Ok, I know this sounds crazy, but I JUST watched this SuperNanny (like 5 seconds ago) where their 21 month old wasn't sleeping in his own bed. Joe had them put the child in his bed and the mom would sit in his room, facing the wall until he fell asleep. It was like torture, seriously watching him screaming and the mom just sat there, but it worked. (I was bawling watching). This family moved all the time, so the parents wanted the baby to have a secure sleeping place where he felt comfortable and safe (hence the co sleeping). But she taught them some techniques to help him feel safe in his own room and own bed even when it was always a different house. I'm not sure how to adjust this with Mak since she's older, but you might want to check it out!

oh, p.s be aware- it's a tearjerker! But I always learn something new with Super Nanny and I think those skills and techniques she teaches are so important!
ReplyDeleteYou don't seem cranky to me, but I'm cranky so I'm probably not the best judge.
ReplyDeleteLittle DJ got in our bed last night again. Every time he does that I feel like I have a newborn again. Awake every half hour with a foot in my face/elbow in my eye/leg under my head. Freaking kids! ;)
aw!!! i hope things get better and that you get more sleep!!! i totally hear ya on that one--i'm a completely different person when i don't get my sleep!!
ReplyDeleteGirl, I too feel you!!! so SOOOO much!! I can't even remember the last time I had 8 uninterupted hours of sleep (it was probably before I was prego for the first time) Oh hey, one thing that has helped for me, when it comes to kids sneaking into your bed at night, I make a bed on the floor right by my side of the bed for my boys, and hold their hand, or whatever till they fall asleep. not the best solution I'm sure, but I've gotten alot more sleep since they've starting sleeping on my floor instead of my bed :) now if I can just get Leeya to sleep in her crib every night, I'll be set :)
